CHRISTMAS Update

Decorating with pine is one of the oldest Winter rituals we still practice. An echo of times past and the love of evergreens as symbols of endurance for the sharp Winter ahead. Their scent and softness, and their deep green colour all speak to the instinct to head indoors and get cosy when the world goes quiet and cold.

Layered over mantels, mirrors, stair rails or hung on doors, pine always has a way of softening surroundings and heightening atmosphere. A gentle counterpoint to candles and the chill of Winter outside the window.

Our Wreath Workshops

By popular demand, we added more Wreath Workshops this year, and again, they have proven to be super popular! Most have sold out, but we still have a few spots left in some.

Wreath Making in the cosy Henty Arms – Tuesday 25th November from 6pm to 8pm. Call the Henty on 01903 241 254 to reserve your spot by the fire (or give the shop a buzz on 01273 504 904 and we’ll put your name on the list). Payment of £48.00 is due on the night.

A lovely local collaboration in Shoreham at the fabulous Chapter34 books. Saturday 29th November, 1:30 – 3:30pm. Book here: https://www.flowersbywaltersmith.co.uk/flowers/____Christmas_Wreath_Making_Workshop.aspx

In the snug of our little shop on Preston Drove, Brighton, we have a couple of spots left in our workshop on the 4th and 6th December – but literally only a couple. Book here: https://www.gingerlilyflorists.co.uk/flowers/____Christmas_Wreath_Making_Workshop.aspx

And last, but by no means least – our local collaboration to kick of Christmas at St. Matthias, Brighton. Come along and join in the community spirit and get your Wreath on! 7:30pm on Thursday 27th November. Book here: https://linktr.ee/stmatthiasbtn

Get wrapped up to get cosy at one of our Wreath Workshops. They're £48.00 per person, we provide everything - and some seasonal fizz and nibbles, and we create a collective cheer!

We'd love to see you.

Silver Lining...

Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining. Closing was not an easy thing to do. At the time, I had the heart-breaking task of calling our beloved customers to let them know that we were unable to fulfil their orders, as we have closed as a result of the Government directed COVID-19 Lockdown. We tidied, prepared, turned the lights off, and then walked out of our darling little shop, closing the door behind us. I sat in my car some time afterwards trying to breathe. I had a massive lump in my chest that the air just could not get around… and then it came. The tears, the terror, the realisation th ...Read More

As Seasons Change, So Will We…

As Seasons Change, So Will We… Like everyone else, I now find that my very busy diary is completely empty. Weirdly, I’m taking much comfort from the fact that this is utterly out of my hands…and putting aside all the obvious worries about the financial impact, the state of the industry afterwards and rebuilding my business, all of which I have no answers to or control over, I feel strangely liberated despite the opposite actually being true! Time is always such a precious commodity. There’s never enough time for the garden, family, friends, planning, thinking, re ...Read More
